“Hold fast to the hope that lies before us.”–Hebrews6:18

As we approach the holiest time of the year in our faith, my prayer for our SJJ school community is that this Lenten journey was a time of transformation and renewal, as we seek to grow closer to God and to one another. Throughout this season we have tried to support and encourage one another along the way, knowing that together, we are stronger.

As a school community, we are looking forward to our upcoming Spring Break (the last day of school is Holy Thursday with an early dismissal and no Viking Cove after care that day). Speaking of our shortened school day on Holy Thursday, we at SJJ will fully immerse ourselves in the richness of our Catholic school traditions and teachings as we spend the day in a school-wide Holy Thursday Retreat. The day kicks off with a service project for residents of Mount Alverna Nursing Home, followed by Living Stations presented by our 7th and 8th graders, a special prayer service, and more! Our students will remain busy and active as we come together in prayer, reflection, and fellowship, united in our shared belief in the power of Christ’s resurrection to bring hope, healing, and salvation to the world.

May Holy Week be a time of spiritual renewal and transformation for each of us, as we draw closer to God and to one another. Wishing you and your families a blessed and meaningful Holy Week.

The Peek at the Week will return on Thursday, April 11.

Easter blessings,

Mrs. Schenek
