Keeping parents informed is important for student success. SJJ strives to make it easy for parents to stay informed and to provide parents with resources to help their children be successful.
In order for parents to volunteer in their child's classroom, chaperone a field trip, or coach a sport, parents must go through the "Virtus Program." The excellence of our school is, in large part, due to the involvement of our parents. At SJJ, there are many social and volunteer opportunities for parents to be involved. We recognize that parents are busy and, therefore, we try to provide a variety of opportunities for parents to be involved in a way that is right for them.

School districts across the state of Ohio are participating in an effort to identify, locate and evaluate all children birth through 21 years of age who may have disabilities. For children birth through age two, a disability means a child has a delay in one or more of these developmental areas: adaptive behavior, cognition, communication, physical development, sensory development or social or emotional development. For children ages 3 through 21, a disability means a person having one or more of these conditions: autism, cognitive disability, deaf-blindness, deafness, developmental delay (preschool only), emotional disturbance, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury impairment, visual impairment or a combination of such conditions. A referral may be initiated by parent/guardian, relative, community member or agency knowledgeable of the child’s needs.
