News from Mrs. Wolf

2021-01-29T18:05:12+00:00

From the Desk of Mrs. Wolf: As we turn the page to the 2021 calendar, I wanted to take a minute to let you know how wonderful it was to have the students back in the building. The excitement and eagerness to get back to business was very invigorating. A special thank you to all those staff members and 8th graders who so willingly gave up their time to help carry the students bags to the classrooms. Now that we are in the month of February, I would like to address Ash Wednesday. Due to the concerns of COVID-19, the Vatican [...]

February Principal Letter

2021-01-29T16:03:42+00:00

Dear Parents, It is so great to have the students in the classrooms! Just seeing their faces, hearing noise throughout the school and seeing them working diligently is a wonderful feeling. We all need to continue to be vigilant about social distance, wearing masks and remembering what we do outside of school affects our entire school community. Thank you for your cooperation and diligence during this time. WOW! SJJ recently received a very generous donation of $75,000 from an anonymous donor for our final phase of the Air Conditioning unit in the Middle School. We have raised $205,000 of our $300,000 [...]

Information to Return on January 19, 2021

2020-12-31T04:41:55+00:00

Dear Parents, I hope everyone had a healthy and safe Christmas. Fr. Barry and I have received a few emails and phone calls about returning back to SJJ earlier than our original date. The SJJ Task Force recently met virtually and with a lot of thought, prayer and discussion, we decided to remain with our original plan to continue with remote learning until Tuesday, January 19, 2021. This was not an easy decision and was made to ensure the health and well-being of our students and staff as we return from our Christmas break to our classrooms. The school has been [...]

Once we return, I will need to be notified immediately if someone in your household tests positive with Covid or if you have come in contact with a positive case. The SJJ Task Force will be meeting over Christmas break to reevaluate the return to in person learning. I appreciate your support during this time away from the building and we are [...]

Dear Parents, Tis the season! It is hard to believe we are already in the third week of Advent and this is the time we continue our preparation for the coming of Christ. Joseph and John School received $18,870 that will help go towards the air conditioning to our classrooms and the renovation of our courtyard! New York Times best-selling author/illustrator visits through zoom!

2020-11-13T03:20:59+00:00

Last week our Third Grade class had New York Times best-selling author/illustrator, Brian Lies, visit their classroom through a zoom session! The author did a presentation that included detailed descriptions of his illustrations, as well as showing the students how many edits it takes to get a book published. He showed pictures of where he gets his inspiration to write, and a sneak peak at a book he's working on that will be published next year. Mr. Lies answered questions the students had sent to him ahead of time, and did a draw-along of one of his characters with the students. [...]
