Dear Parents,

Tis the season! It is hard to believe we are already in the third week of Advent and this is the time we continue our preparation for the coming of Christ. The students are taught to prepare their hearts and minds by practicing what our faith tells us to do.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone that donated to #weGiveCatholic. Sts. Joseph and John School received $18,870 that will help go towards the air conditioning to our classrooms and the renovation of our courtyard! The faculty, staff and students thank you for your generosity!

We are currently scheduled to return back to SJJ in person on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. I am asking you to please continue to take precautions over the break so that we can return back to SJJ in person! Once we return, I will need to be notified immediately if someone in your household tests positive with Covid or if you have come in contact with a positive case.

The SJJ Task Force will be meeting over Christmas break to reevaluate the return to in-person learning. I appreciate your support during this time away from the building and we are looking forward to getting the students back into the building.

The words “thank you” do not seem adequate for what you are all accomplishing this year. Thank you students for your determination and willingness to change your learning pattern and also doing such an awesome job with it. Thank you parents for being flexible, helpful and understanding with all of the unpredictable changes this year. Thank you faculty and staff for always giving 110%, showing extreme flexibility and commitment as well as being the amazing people that you are. This year has been challenging to say the least, but Together As One our SJJ School Community is doing a fantastic job and I am so proud of all of you!

I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2021!

In service of youth,

Joseph M. Akosi
