Dear Saints Joseph and John School Families,
“Hold fast to the hope that lies before us.” – Hebrews 6:18
Entering the final week of September, we are blessed to be able to look back at a month full of great events like PTU’s restaurant night (a special thank you to PTU!), our back to school night, and our first all-school Mass of the school year!
The week ahead is also full of many noteworthy happenings in our school community:
- Monday, September 25 is Picture Day at school, so please have your child dress up for the occasion following the school’s out of uniform dress code policy (found below).
- NEXT WEEK IS MAP WEEK! We are excited to begin Kindergarten-Eighth Grade MAP assessments on Tuesday, September 26. Different this year is that we will be assessing for one week only instead of our former assessment schedule spread out over several weeks. Please be sure to help your child(ren) get a good night’s rest each night, eat a healthy breakfast, bring healthy snacks and their water bottle each day. Teachers will be sharing specific information about each class testing schedule.
- Also on Tuesday, September 26, SJJ is having a putt-putt and ice cream night at Dairy Queen (Sprague and W130) from 5-8pm. Please sign up on Facebook, our website or by using the link below.
- Our Safety Forces Prayer Service at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church on Wednesday, September 27. Please consider joining us for the service, inviting family members who serve in safety forces, and praying with us for these selfless men and women. More information can be found below.
Please note that parent-teacher conferences are on Tuesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 12 after school. Our school is using PTCFast.com to make signups as convenient as possible this year. Please enter the following web address into your browser window to schedule your conference time:

Finally, the State’s application deadline for the full EdChoice Scholarship amount is quickly approaching. Please be sure you have made any necessary corrections, and completed the Income Verification application online. More information can be found below.
Have a wonderful rest of your week!
Blessings,
Mrs. Schenek
