Dear Saints Joseph and John School Families,

The energy around our school has been buzzing with excitement as we enter May! Field trips were abound this past week, with many of our students taking their learning beyond the four walls of the classroom. From exploring the wonders of the botanical gardens to diving into Ohio history and even venturing out of state, many of our students had rich, hands-on experiences that brought their learning to life.

This Sunday, we proudly celebrate a major milestone for our 8th graders as they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue their journey of faith, strengthened by the Holy Spirit and supported by our school and parish communities.

Looking ahead into next week, we’re preparing for a joyful and gratitude-filled Teacher Appreciation Week. Our incredible PTU has some wonderful surprises planned to honor the dedication and passion of our SJJ educators—thank you in advance for helping us celebrate them.

We also look forward to our May Crowning celebration, a special tradition that honors our Blessed Mother Mary during this month dedicated to her. It’s a beautiful way for our students to reflect on her example of love, peace, and faithfulness.

Next week, we’re also excited to welcome our incoming Kindergarten Viking families to our Kindergarten Information Night. The evening will walk incoming Kindergarten families through some of the procedures and routines of kindergarten, what to expect as they transition to “big school,” and how to best support their child in getting ready for a great start at SJJ. We look forward to meeting our newest students and helping their families feel at home.

A reminder that tomorrow is the first Friday of the month—students are invited to wear spirit wear tops with uniform bottoms and shoes.

Let us continue this final month of school with joy, gratitude, and a strong sense of community. May we walk in faith and finish the year Viking Strong!

In Christ,

Mrs. Schenek and Mrs. Francis
