Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program (JPSN) gives the parents of children with educational disabilities the choice to send their child to special education programs other than the one operated by their school district of residence to receive the education and the services outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). Children are eligible to apply from kindergarten up to age 22 (if graduation requirements have not been met), and have been determined eligible for special education and related services through an Evaluation Team Report (ETR). A finalized IEP from their district of residence is required to receive the scholarship award.

Bishops’ Scholarship for Excellence

The Catholic Education Endowment Trust (CEET) was established in 1976 by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland to promote Catholic education, provide support for religious programs, and to offer tuition aid and scholarships to families with financial need who desired a Catholic education for their children. As part of this initiative, CEET started the Bishops’ Scholarship to encourage Excellence in Catholic education.

In order to apply for this scholarship, the family is required to complete a FACTS Grant and Aid application for 2023-2024.

Applications should be returned to the school office. Principals must submit all applications by March 15, 2023.

EdChoice

Available for grades K-8, EdChoice & EdChoice Expansion Scholarships are a fantastic opportunity for our families to receive discounted tuition, while benefiting our school with extra funding. The funds come from the State of Ohio and are separate from tax money that benefits public schools; furthermore, every family in grades K-8 will qualify for at least some sort of benefit.

Families up to 450% of the Federal poverty level will receive a full scholarship, and all other households will receive partial scholarships on a sliding scale, with the lowest being 10% of a full scholarship.

FACTS Financial Aid: Diocesan of Cleveland Tuition Assistance

Diocesan tuition assistance is available to families in need financially with children in kindergarten through grade 12 attending Catholic elementary and high schools within the Diocese of Cleveland.

To be considered, families must fill out a FACTS Financial Aid Application through FACTS Grant and Aid. An independent company called FACTS does an objective evaluation of a family’s financial profile for the Diocese of Cleveland. The FACTS Application form is submitted directly to FACTS for evaluation. If you need help completing the FACTS form, contact FACTS Parent support: 866-441-4637 . View the FACTS Mgmt Privacy Policy.

By completing a FACTS form, you are automatically considered by the Diocese of Cleveland for their tuition assistance program funded by the Catholic Education Endowment Trust (CEET). The deadline for the first round, where the majority of available aid is granted, is March 15. Notification of these awards is expected by mid-May. There is a second round with a deadline of June 1 and notification is by mid-July. These notifications come directly from the Diocese of Cleveland.

Depending on family needs and the diocesan funds available, grants usually range from $200-$1000 for elementary school or $400-$1500 for high school. Special scholarships with separate criteria are also available and can be discussed with the principal.

Note that you must also fill out the FACTS form to be evaluated for the Bishop’s Scholarship for Excellence, and the M. Thomas Moore Scholarship.

Financial Aid awards may be renewed annually. To qualify for renewal, a new FACTS form must be completed each year and demonstrate continued financial need.
