May is here and if your house is anything like mine, your child knows EXACTLY how many school days are left until the last day of school!  (Hint—it’s 14.5!)

As my term as President is expiring this month after 4 years, I wanted to take a quick moment to thank the other Members of the PTU Board as well as our Committee Chairs, Teacher Liaisons as well as Mrs. Francis for the incredible collaboration and support over the years.  I’ve been on the Executive Board in various roles since my youngest Daughter Kate was in Kindergarten (now in 5th grade) and oldest Daughter Jane was in 2nd grade (now a Freshman in HS) so to step down is especially bittersweet; “don’t blink” is so very true and I will miss being part of all the hard work that happens behind the scenes to make all of the events and fundraising activities so successful.  I’m especially proud of the way the Board and Chairs came together during the pandemic; we creatively found ways to be “together” and continue to provide resources and support to our Teachers, Administration and Students when they needed it most.

All that said,  I’m looking forward to continuing my service in various Committee Chair roles and am excited for the new energy and ideas that our new Board Members will bring to the table.   Please also join me in thanking Carol McAuley who has graciously served in various capacities the last few years as well, most recently as our VP, Operations, as her term has ended as well.  Thank you, Carol!

Please join me in congratulating our 2023-2024 Executive Board:

Co-Presidents: Natalie Pratt and Roxanne Yurcik
Treasurer: Tina Dzik
Secretary: Laura LaNasa
Vice President, Fundraising: Kristina Arch
Vice President, Marketing: Julie Lytle
Vice President, Operations: Kristin Klefos

Attached is the newsletter for this month in addition a few wonderful recaps that provide snapshots of all the activities of the last year.  We’ve also included a proceeds pie chart that shows where the proceeds have went from all of the fundraising. Finally, there is an attachment that has a few big dates to add to your calendar for the 2023-2024 school year!  Please continue to follow the PTU page on Facebook as we’ll share updates and volunteer opportunities throughout the Summer.

Congratulations to our 8th Graders—we are so very proud of your accomplishments at SJJ and we know that you will continue to do great things as you move on to High School; “make no small plans.”

Have a great Summer and thank you so very much for your continued support of Sts. Joseph & John School!

Best,

Kerry Woloszynek
