Strongsville Women’s League Presentation on Teen Mental Wellness

March 20 | 7:00 pm | Strongsville Middle School

On Wednesday, March 20, the Strongsville Women’s League will present “Protect Our Children: Teen Mental Wellness” at 7:00pm at the Strongsville Middle School, 13200 Pearl Road.

The speaker will be Gina Marek, founder and president of the non-profit MY FAVE FIVE App. The MY FAVE FIVE App helps individuals aged 13 and older identify, connect, and build relationships with trusted people in their lives while developing healthy coping skills.

Gina founded her non-profit to honor her son Jacob who died by suicide at the age of 15 in 2016. With the help of supportive friends, the idea of the MY FAVE FIVE App evolved as a way for Gina to channel her grief and work to fulfill her son’s purpose of helping others. The initial idea for the MY FAVE FIVE App was to help teens create their own networks of support. However, after seeing the isolation and depression caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Gina enhanced the App in early 2022 to be able to offer the App to everyone.

This event is free and open to everyone, those in Strongsville as well as members of the surrounding communities. The subject matter is most appropriate for individuals aged 13 and older.
